I installed a second fan when I put a Pentium 90 in the box due to CPU heat. It runs 24/7 with no problems. However, if I were buying a new drive, Quantum or Seagate would be my first choice. How do you disable JH>the parity and sync negotiation? Depends on your controller card. If your SCSI controller allows individual assignments like Adaptecs then it is in the card BIOS which gives a sign on message and the configuration entry Hot Keys during POST. Most Adaptec's allow the setting of these values on a ID per ID basis. I would have to reboot to tell you the key at the moment; can't do that. If you had an old Adaptec like the 1542B or a less expensive card then it may be all ID's or nothing switchs or jumpers. --Lynn * SLMR 2.1a * A little inaccuracy saves a lot of explanation. --- DB 1.39/004485 * Origin: The Diamond Bar BBS, San Dimas CA, 909-599-2088 (1:218/1001) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 260 OS/2 HARDWARE Ref: FA100054 Date: 05/24/98 From: CHARLES BOWMAN Time: 01:54am \/To: ALL (Read 2 times) Subj: Motherboard Recommendations Hello All! I can't speek for Warp 3, but on Warp 4 I was unable to get the supplied drivers to work at all. Instead, I updated the system to FP 6 and installed the latest GRADD drivers from IBM. They work a LOT better than the drivers supplied by ATI. The GRADD drivers require at least FP 5 in warp 4, and I assume an appropriate fp level in warp 3 also.
