Does the error occur with any disk or just JM> with certain disks? The corrective action for your problem depends on JM> this. Is there any additional devices, such as a tape backup attached JM> to the floppy controller? The error occurs with every disk I own; some 3-4 years old, some 2 weeks old. Also, some (new ones) were pre-formatted as well as reformatted within OS/2. However, Win95 (on the same machine) has no problems reading/writing to those floppies. This fact makes me think of a configuration problem, rather than a hardware problem. On the other hand, it could be that OS/2 detects a problem with the drive and refuses to execute the copy command, whereas Win95 simply does not see this as a problem. I do have a tape backup, attached to the drive cable, but I removed it when I experienced this problem. Also, I recently repartitioned the hard disk and reinstalled Win95 and OS/2. I believe that the floppy problems appeared after that. However, I rarely used floppies before, and the problem may have been present but undetected.
