Does the error occur with any disk or just with certain disks? The corrective action for your problem depends on this. Is there any additional devices, such as a tape backup attached to the floppy controller? Now for the BAD news. If you cannot read any floppies at all, your floppy drive is or has gone bad. If you can read floppies formatted in your drive, but no others, the drive is out of alignment and a replacement is less expensive than repairing the existing drive. If you have a tape backup device connected to the floppy controller, disconnect it and then try to read a disk. I had a defective or improperly configured tape drive and I had to replace it with a "better" model in order to use the B: drive. The A: drive could not be accessed (error accessing Drive A:, device is not ready error.) Hope the above information helps. If the system is under warrenty, call the repair station to get it fixed.
