Yes you are correct. The max attainable link would be the max buss speed of the slower cpu, or the slower modem. Which ever is slowest. I should have looked my msg over, but was in a hurry. just didn't notice I had said a link of 33.6 (Wrong) instead of 19.2. :) And yes in that instance cpu #1 does require flow control. It must dedicate some of the processor time to screen & memory refresh. Which does not allow it enough time for a continous stream from the modem. ___ Blue Wave/DOS v2.30 --- TriToss (tm) Professional 10.0 - #246 * Origin: The Other Side * Massillon, OH * (330) 832-0565 (1:2216/77.0) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 105 HIGH SPEED MODEM Ref: EC100010Date: 07/31/97 From: BUD JAMISON Time: 07:14pm \/To: RICK GRAHAM (Read 5 times) Subj: Accura 56K (flex) -> My ISP supports x2 nd -will- when K56Flex is made available to them. -> I talked to Hayes tech, Hayes os/support via email, and my ISP. -> Until Hayes makes the code available - a "56k" connect aint a gonna -> happen. If you aren't going to download anything, you can try AT&K0 which turns off data compression and I have noticed no delays with this one. On the upgrade front, I recently ordered the 56k $7 upgrade, for Sportster owners (who bought their modems last August to Jan 4th) and the salesman said the 56k problem had to do with the circuit board and not the chip. So they will send me a brand new modem with a new circuit board and 56k chip along with a pre-postage-paid package to ship the old one back in, I just need to include a slip of paper with a customer order number to identify it coming from me. Pretty sweet deal, get a brand new modem for $7 shipping :-) Anyways, I was wondering if anyone had heard of any problems with the newer (read recently shipped out) 56k modems with the newer circuit board? I guess there is always AT S15=128 to disable the v42.bis but hopefully the newer ones, and the one I will be getting, will be bug free. Any hints on how I can test out my new modem to check for bugs? I know there is a free 56k line you can call somewhere to check that feature out, but how about checking the datacompression routines? Thanks, and I will let you know when I will get my modem, I ordered it midday on 7-29-97, and they said one to two weeks. Again, this refers to the USR Sportster 33.6k and 56k modems. --- WILDMAIL!/WC v4.12 * Origin: COM-DAT BBS (1:105/314.0) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 105 HIGH SPEED MODEM Ref: EC100016Date: 07/31/97 From: MIKE FARRILL Time: 06:35pm \/To: PRATAP DERRICK (Read 5 times) Subj: USR V.Everything -> MIKE FARRILL wrote in a message to PRATAP DERRICK: -> -> -> MIKE FARRILL wrote in a message to ASHER DENSMORE-LYNN: -> -> -> -> -> -> MF> Usr now has a Courier I modem which is an ISDN TA and a v.34 -> -> MF> modem. -> -> -> -> AND!
