I have a Hayes Optima 288 V.34/V.FC+Fax. I always seem to experience this when I run FrontDoor 2.12 using X00 as the FOSSIL driver. Any help would be appreciated and I would be happy to provide more info if needed. Thanks in advance for the help. John --- FASTECHO 1.41 * Origin: VORTEX Wood-Ridge, N.J. Some time ago, I capped my modem at 26.4 with S37=34 to solve a problem I was having with a couple of downlinks with older, flakey Zoom V.FC modems. After that, my problems seemed to be mainly limited to occasional 300 bps connects with the Zooms (and only the Zooms, three or four times a week). They've recently upgraded, and I took the cap off the Hayes. I'm now having the same 300 bps problems with the same frequency with the Zooms. I'm also having a hell of a time with my uplink and a couple of downlinks, all of whom run USR Courier V.everythings. Bink reports numerous retransmits, and the vast majority of the time the line is dropped. When a connect manages to hold for the entire session, I get drastically reduced throughput (~2300 cps), even on 26.4 connects that used (before I took the choke off) to be fine (~3000 cps or so). Help! FYI, ATI7 returns an ERROR (!?). ATI0 returns 28800, ATI2 returns OK. One of my downlinks with a Courier tells me that the nifty link stats his modem gives him describes lots of "blers". Perhaps more on this if he forwards me his stats as I've asked.
