Thousands of technicians attended the vehicles as they were prepared - Command modules, rocket stages, crew etc. Many would doubtless have noticed that 3 men got into the Apollo capsule , went up into the sky under a gigantic fireball, and disappeared from view. Would the then Soviet Union not have loved to reveal that no US spacecraft left orbit on their tracking screens? Was Jodrell Bank in on the conspiracy? I don't believe that Sir Bernard Lovell was bought off, or Kettering Grammar school, who uncovered many Soviet secrets and failures i that period. The crews then came back 9-12 days later, carrying at least several tens of kilos of rock without touching Earth in the intervening period; where did the rock come from, and why are the minerals not easily identifiable as terrestrial minerals, eg the orange "genesis rock" or the totally anhydous regolith samples, uncontaminated by a trace of organic matter. Even Antarctic samples show evidence of life, or contact with oxygen? Scientists from many disciplines and countries have studied samples of these rocks; have they all been fooled, or were they all bought? Was Apollo roomy enough to contain 3 men and a sterilizer big enough to "cook" over 100 lbs of rock to that extent. If they orbited the Earth for a few days and came back without going to the Moon, someone must have pre-filled Apollo with all this junk; after 25 years, has no one sold his story to the Press yet? It would require a roomful of X-files in itself to explain away that violation of human nature! Maybe I'm being too simple, but surely the Fortean Times is primarily a vehicle of entertainment, not scholarship. There are enough people in Congress/Government who would love to debunk or kill the Space progamme for Budgetary reasons, who would have access to such a cover-up - if it existed; surely by now they could have blown it wide open, and put an end to the myth of "America's glorious days of Apollo". The space effort would never survive the laughter, and billions could be excised from the budget. Times have changed, as we keep hearing; there is , for many people, no propaganda value in having gone to the Moon, so why keep up such an elaborate pretence? Maybe all the above is not proof absolute, but it is a lot easier to believe than the alternative. NO, JFK WAS shot; Elvis, and Mao Tse Tung ARE truly dead; and Martin Bormann is not teaching Sunday school in Bolivia, and Adolf Hitler was not a Zionist conspirator.
