Especially with comments and variations. I was thinking about writing a PGN file reader which might be able to understand/convert other chess game textfiles. Anyone know of programs that already do this sort of thing or anything they lack? HW>> Wow, a finish! I don't think I've ever seen a completed game in HW>>Fido. Could I possibly see the score of the whole game? HW> Peter, just having deleted the stuff :-)), HW> just asked me to send it... HW> HW>here you are: Thanks very much. HW>furthermore he asked: "Why on earth do people want to see HW>just this game, there have been better ones here in CHESS, HW>which have been finished, too (and, as I might add, much HW>more to Peter's delight... :-) I'd be interested to see any game really. It's just that this was the first finish I'd seen and I was curious. Well played btw. I have played over it quickly and it was an interesting struggle. Do you play much correspondence chess via email? I play with the International Email Chess Group whose third cup competition starts this month. Last time I didn't really pay much attention and still managed to get good positions so I think this time I shall put more effort into it and see what result it rings. So I'm doing a little bit of investigation. Once my opponents are announced shall look over the games from IECG for the last few years and see what they play... until then I'm scouring FIDO for some hints :) Bye for now, Dave --- ViaMAIL!/WC4 v1.30 * Origin: Ooh!, London - Free E-Mail/UseNet - 0181 395 3108 (2:254/233) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 123 CHESS Ref: EEB00003 Date: 10/03/97 From: MICHAEL RUMPF Time: 12:28pm \/To: JAMES RANSON (Read 0 times) Subj: FIDO FALL '96 TOURNEY James Ranson@1:140/234.2 meinte am 29.09.97 zum Thema "FIDO FALL '96 TOURNEY" im Brett /FIDO/CHESS: Hallo James, JR-MR: 1 e4 Nf6 2 Nc3 d5 3 exd5 Nxd5 4 Bc4 Nb6 5 Bb3 Nc6 6 Nf3 Bf5 7 0-0 e6 8 d3 Be7 9 Be3 0-0 10 Qd2 Na5 11 Nb5 Nxb3 12 axb a6 13 Nbd4 Bg6 14 Ne5 Nd5 15 Nxg6 hxg6 16 c3 c5 17 Nf3 Nxe3 18 Qxe3 Qd5 19 c4 Qd6 20 d4 cxd4 21 Nxd4 Bf6 22 Rfd1 Rfd8 23 Nc2 Qxd1+ 24 Raxd1 Rxd1+ 25 Ne1 Be7 26 g3 Bb4 27 Qb6 Rxe1+ 28 Kg2 a5 29 Qxb7 Rad8 30 Qb6 Rd2 31.c5 Ree2 32.c6 Rc2 Tschau Michael --- CrossPoint v3.11 R * Origin: 64:1/1800.3 (2:241/508.2) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 123 CHESS Ref: EEB00004 Date: 10/06/97 From: BILL SPANGLER Time: 01:41pm \/To: KEN BLAKE (Read 0 times) Subj: BSKB1,2 DUH!
