All comments about dirt and goat turds aside, my only real concern about the theory is the complete scarcity of medical documentation for the assertion (from the lecturer) that EVERY degenerative disease can be traced to a mineral deficiency of one kind or another. That broad conclusion is not supported by the tape nor by its producers. Such MAY be the case, but it needs a wider base of medical support, IMHO. --- InterEcho 1.18 * Origin: IC_STARS BBS * Madawaska,ME USA* 207-728-6427 (1:326/438) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 257 ALTERN. I am trying a herbal tea called Merlins Tea (Bilberry, Blueberry, Alfalfa, Dandelions, Eleuthero, Ginkgo, Ura Vera, Peppermint, and Stevia). I'm having a difficult time learning to like the taste of this concoction. So, if your suggestion is more herbal tea, I believe I'll pass. I have used Red Clover Salve (Watkins Brand). It appeared to work for a short time. It contained olive oil, beeswax, safflower oil, red clover extract, bee pollen extract, lanolin, and tocopherol (vitamin e). The thing that seemed to work best for me is called Loma Eczema. It contains kali bromatum 1x, natrum bromatum 2x, kali muriaticum 4x, kali suphuricum 4x, and niccolum sulphuricum 6x. Two inactive ingredients called lactose and magnesium sterate are also listed. I have lost my source for these tablets in the Jacksonville, Fl. area. The bottle says it is distributed by Plymouth Pharmaceuticals of Tulsa, Ok. I'm ready to try something else. I'll contact my herbalist and see what she knows too.... Bergamot comes in 2 varieties, one is Italian and one is American. The American variety is called horsemint. The Italian one is a citrus. The citrus is good for making sleep pillows. Horsemint is good for more visceral problems (in one of the books on disk I have it listed a variety of ailments relieved by horsemint). I would say don't rely on a single product for fibre. Try to eat fresh fruit & veg, wholegrain bread, etc. If you consume a lot of caffeine-- in tea, coffee, soft drinks, whatever, cut down. Try cutting out dairy products for a while-- some people with gut problems are lactose-intolerant and get relief but cutting down on milk and milk products. At any rate, you should avoid dairy products for a few days if you've had a bout of diarrhoea, since your gut gets stripped of lactose-digesting enzymes. That is, more lactose leads to more diarrhoea. I've never heard great reviews of any remedies, conventional or alternative. Mostly what seems to work is healthy food and exercise-- plus give those other suggestions a go. *..* --- CatMail v0.779b/0000 * Origin: Modem Madness -=< Where The Madness Starts >=- (3:770/230) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 257 ALTERN.
