LN> How do you make your Boric acid douche? Did you use Acetic acid as That was a long time ago, and I hate to remember any type of treatment from that far away! I think there were two kinds of Boric Acid and I had to look for the kind to use. Then I boiled a stated amount in water to make the solution which I kept in a sterile (or as best I could get it) container until I needed to use it. I simply put it in the frig and added warm water before use. I think that a pharmcist would know what the formula is. --- * Origin: My Desk, Puyallup, WA (253) 845-2418 (1:138/255) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 257 ALTERN. Hello All, I'm seeking help with a very persistent (and as yet still presumably) Candida Yeast infection. I say presumably because several examining doctors _assume_ it is yeast... this does make sense to me as well... but I'm waiting for a gov't laboratory biopsy result to come in. Have tried the following external creams: 75 gr. Nystatin cream 30 gr. Canesten (strength unknown) 30 gr. Hydrocortisone + Nizoral ----------------------------------- Noticed soem improvement, BUT....? So, now I need your help. Could anyone please direct me to a Candida FAQ for example? Is there such a thing? Also, I've read that untreated Candida can lead to long list of health problems. Does anyone have a compilation? Also, when Candida become a systemic infection, what are the symptoms and heath concerns? -- I've read it can infect the heart valves. My urologist ha suggested Fluconazole (Diflucan) oral. Any comments or experiences from others? I'm willing to try most anything including herbal, dietary, or drug therapy... Are there any WWW sites to visit? Please help so I can exterminate this most stealthy parasite!!! I used to have this years ago, learned how to do a Boric Acid douche (since then douches have gone out of style) and also about Pau d' arco tea from a nutritionist. Both are supposed to help and the tea can be found in health food stores. I have not been bothered for years. But then, I also use a very unconventional method of dealing with cancre sores in my mouth. And strengthening my nails. --- * Origin: My Desk, Puyallup, WA (253) 845-2418 (1:138/255) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 257 ALTERN. Actually 'm a guy :) The _supposed_ Candida really activates when I put Polysporin on the "#3"... Should be noted that I've had about 11-12 other "coliform" bacteria acquired via a contimanated bathroom doorknob from a shared bathroom and the last person to use it was very unhygenic and had several blood transfusions.... For 35 years I never had any problems. First noticed something was wrong when my fingertips turned purple and my palms becamed inflamed -- perhaps an inflamatory reaction. What you may not understand is what I did AFTER I handled that contaminated shared bathroom doorknob... Since June 1st 1996. Well, I'll try live culture yogurt and see if any improvement... I'm not diabetic and HIV(-). Sometimes I just read inspiring poems and such to get me through this... Candida.... what a man/woman eating fungus... I'm scared and never seen anything like this... ever! Let me know if there is a Candida Albicans etc. FAQ somwhere... please. Thanks Sue! Yeast are much more opportunistic than actually invasive, which is why it is so commonly a vaginal infection and not usually seen elsewhere except the feet (athlete's foot). Unchecked Candida can cause (from what I understand) chronic fatigue and scarring of the area infected, and can cause numerous intestinal problems if the infection is there. I think it may also be implicated in increased food sensitivities, though I'm not sure on that one. Sue ... Reality? Yeah . . That infection is by Helicobater pylori, which is the bacteria that causes alot of stomach ulcers. I don't know of a reason that your underarms would smell (unless there really is a systemic infection involved), but the infected part might smell. At this stage it is your right to figure out what is going on with your body, and a reasonable doctor should find a request for a biopsy or scraping of a lesion a serious request. If you can't get one doctor to help you, try getting second, third, fourth, etc opinions. I don't know if you have supplemental insurace for your health care... if you don't, you may want to ask around to find a doctor that seems to listen to his/her patients (it may help you to limit the options). You may want to check into a family practioner or an internist... while it is a step backwards from the urology specialist, they may have a better clue as to all-around possibilities the urologist may miss. Yes, agreed.. we carry all sorts of bacteria.... I've learned that certain group of people in some Pacific islands subsist primarily on a sweet potato diet and consume almost no protein foods... they have a type of Klebsiella bacteria in their intestines which provides them with a usable source of nitrogen for amino acids and thus proteins. Hi Jane, The throat sores were never there... but appeared while i was taking Ampicillin and easting hstily and bit my tongue. Ever since then it has neen there. I've read in the Goodman & Gillman "Pharmacological Basis of Therapeutics" (a good book to have -- ask you Doc. for an OLD COPY!) that various penecillins can cause throat ulcers and such. Why did the dermatologist ask for throat sores after examining my "#3"? --> I honestly don't know Jane; I didn't ask... docs here in Ontario are busy and I might add many have titles and degrees but lack experience. While my urologist STRONGLY suspects a Candida infection, there where red raised "pimples" on my #3 apart from the redness, rawness, swelling, and itching... so he took a biopsy of that. I'm not a doctor, but I can and do read a lot when I have a specific concern or problem... Maybe the dermatologist suspected some systemic infection. Personally, I believe my #3 has Candida and one more thing which has thus far (swabs I mean) resisted identification. On relationships: I want and am determined to solve this problem because I just can't allow myself a relationship with this... I have and always will believe it it a crime to transmit a virus / bacteria / or other pathogenic microorganism to somebody else via personal relationships. Might be woth noting: (and you can think about this yourself...) that as soon as there is physical love... it becomes a medical fact as well: a man is only as healthy as his Lady, and a lady is only as healthy as her man / mate... True? Take care. Leslie --- Platinum Xpress/Win/Wildcat5! v2.0 * Origin: The Horizon Bulletin Board 905-855-7934 (1:250/348)
