I was, once all was said and done, pretty much confined to the couch and generally useless from 1April (!) to 18 May, give or take a day and a cough or hack here and there. This bloody thing is going around...I had a real bad bout of it..took about 4 weeks to stop coughing..now I've got a cold again..this is vicious this year...I guess we should be taking stuff for our immune systems.. Taking a lot of vitamin C? I want to thank you, and Sue for answering me!! I've had a few bouts with bronchitis, and one with pneumonia, and they were NO FUN!!! I am finally feeling much better though, with drinking much water, tea and juice all day, sleeping with my head raised, took Robotussin cough syrup at night, and basically rested up a lot....the cough spasms have slowed way down both in quantity and duration. I did have the flu shot. Yes, many people seem to have this thing. My husband is an archivist in an historical society here, it is a closed system, and they know it's sick building syndrome potential, if not already. However, the artifacts in the library and museum are more valuable than the employees, and the temp, humidity etc. in the building MUST be kept stable and constant, different in different areas as well. The photograpy/microfilm area is kept at 65F year round to protect the negatives...other areas are kept at a higher temp... Building the immune system seems to be the best answer for this.
