I tried one such, it has a pepper base, and as a result I am left with intense pain in one knee. I tried it on one knee only for a couple of days a couple of months ago. I also have some numbness. And yes, I have been to both a medical doctor and a naturopathic doctor without any huge degree of success in getting rid of the pain. Food in medicines will harm just as it does when eaten and it is in more concentrated doses. I didn't read all of the fine print before I tried it, just followed a doctor's instructions. That is always a bad idea without thinking through the possible results. * SLMR 2.1a * Press any key to continue or any other key to quit - JetMail v1.20*6 - Unregistered QWK Mail Door for Spitfire --- FreeMail 1.10 alpha-3 * Origin: PEACHY KEENO INN BBS * Tacoma,Wa * (206)539-0804 (1:138/190.1) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 257 ALTERN. One of the active ingredients found in milk thistle is the flavonoid silymarin, which has been shown to have a direct effect on the cells of the liver, enhancing its overall function. The known medicinal value of milk thistle is almost exclusively to support the liver. Milk thistle has shown positive effects in treating nearly every known form of liver disease, including cirrhosis, hepatitis, necroses, and liver damage due to drug and alchohol abuse. Milk thistle works due to its ability to inhibit the factors responsible for liver damage, coupled with the fact it works to stimulate production of new liver cells to replace old damaged ones. It also acts as an antioxidant, with far greater free radical damage control than vitamin E. Other studies have found that milk thistle offers some protection against toxic side effects of the pain relieving drug acetaminophen (Tylenol). ___ X Blue Wave/DOS v2.30 X --- Maximus 3.01 * Origin: Who's Askin'?
