They said the research showed that sunscreen altho may prevent the skin cancer does not prevent the ultraviolet from penetrating the body and affecting the blood cells. However, I can purchase 'legal' stimulants that are proven to cause heart attacks and stroke! Legal not legal does not prove who is right or wrong. It is simply a law that passed or was voted in by the majority. Some laws are also part of the 10 commandment set down in the bible. Not debating religion, however. Now certain laws make sense to everyone. Murder, rape, child abuse ect all can agree on. Even a sick puppy who loves to kill knows it is wrong. Other laws....seat belt....helmets.....insurance drugs..... Are not agreed upon by all. My point being in this here ambling method is simply...... Just because it is a law does not make it either right or wrong! However, it does make interesting debates! Or just sosially acceptable and approved? Lets see....fact alcohol can destroy a liver if used enough. Brain cells are PROVEN to be killed by alcohol. Risk of stroke and heartattack added if consumed. One can DIE from alcohol poisoning. When is the last time you read in the paper or heard of someone smoking themselves to death from the "noxios weed" He smoked a pund of columbian and subsequently died. Maybe from a massive overdose of dorito's but death from pot? Lets see, alcohol is proven to cause double vision. I do not believe pot does. I have not the facts, but I would venture to say that more car accidents are caused by drunk drivin than driving stoned. But alcohol is legal and therefore socially approved. 5$ worth of alcohol can get a person to the legal driving limit of endangering others and selves. Legally drunk, impaired what have you. 5$ worth of the noxious weed will give you the munchies, drymouth and will not impair vision or co-ordination any where near the 5 of alcohol. yet it is legal therefore socially approved. Well, in some states in America, it is legal to kill and eat your pet dog, if the death is in a "humane" manner. Is this socially approved? yes! It must be, it is legal! Think I'll go grab me a legal alcoholic beverage, somehow I am thirsty. It's approved, right? --- GAPNet Enhanced * Origin: QUACKERS BBS - Cleveland, Ohio (1:157/443.0) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 257 ALTERN. I agree that in the last number of months that certain people are indeed getting of the intent of this echo and what is the purpose it is intended for, but this is a small amount of the great number of truly great subjects and informative information that is posted here. Each user has a different problem to cope with, and I know about your own and past difficulties, I also have problems of my own, but I feel that they are minor in comparison to others, so I have not elaberated on them, I have found out though that as I read each message that the answer to my own problems will be posted somewhere along the way. I had such great hopes for this echo when it started. It is so hard to find info for people like us that are wanting to use other than conventional medical methods and I thought it would be a great idea for people like us to come together..exchange ideas, thoughts and provide support in hard times. We used to have some really interesting people from all over the world. I enjoyed reading the posts from other countries but then it just went downhill with a few people who thought they had the only opinions and everyone else were idiots. Well..a little while longer and see what happens..I renewed for another six months. Let's hope the posts start up again. Fido also goes by volume of traffic. If there isn't enough posts to warrant the expense of Fido carrying the echo it will be dropped anyway.
