Here is what I need to do: call my uucp provider, retrieve email, convert it to *.pkt format and place it in my inbound directory for Binkley to handle. I'm confused about what I need to do this. I've been told I need Waffle, uucico, FX uucico, Act-Up, and/or GiGo. I've got all this and the docs leave more than a little to be desired! Is anyone else doing this who wants to share some advice? Do I need to set up Waffle? Will UUCICO.EXE run without Waffle? If I use Act-Up do I still need UUCICO ? If I use Gigo do I need anything else? Keep your laughter to yourself now but I want to do ths as simply as possible! :-) Thanks in advance to the good Samaritan(s) who respond(s). -Jim- --- SLMR 2.1a still too much blood in my caffeine stream... --- SLMR 2.1a I respect your right to have the wrong opinion... --- RyPacker v2.5 * Origin: AirPower Home of the AIRGUN Echo 610-259-2193 (1:273/408) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 256 RYBBS Ref: CD300002 Date: 09/02/95 From: JIM HENRY Time: 01:36pm \/To: RICK ROSINSKI (Read 5 times) Subj: Sysop RR>Could you PLEASE stop posting messages addressed to "SYSOP" in an INTERN RR>echo? SY>Greg SY>--- Would a door be necessary? My batch files take care of making the file, putting it whereever it should go. I was hoping that Ry could just check for the existence of a file that matchs the callers name or user #, and then throwing it in the ..\qwkstuff directory, where it would automatically get packed up in his packet like everything else does. Then either when the caller exits qwkmail, or when he logs off, or when the next caller logs on, OR when the next callers enters qwkmail, Rybbs deletes that file or lets the next qwkusers file overwrite it. I think alot of sysops would like it....but I'm no programmer then! Anyway thanks for a great program. I recently bought a 5 node version of PcBoard, but shelved it after setup after comparing it step by step with RyMult RyBBS. Jim --- RyPacker v2.7 * Origin: RyBBS HomeBase `Home of RyBBS!' Perhaps uucp and listserv support would be easier? Would anyone else besides me out there want that? My vision of the future differs from yours though. I fear that if people continue to use BBS's AT ALL,it will be because they don't have to go elsewhere for internet. Jim --- RyPacker v2.7 * Origin: RyBBS HomeBase `Home of RyBBS!'
