I've just switched my bbs over from my 386 sx 33mhz system to a 75 mhz Pentium. I tried to duplicaate everything pretty much exactly but so far one problem has surfaced. When a caller tries to download a qwk packet at speeds greater than 2400 it doesn't work. It does work fine at 2400 but at speeds greater than 2400 it acts like it can't find the airpower.qwk file. I haven't checked but assume this is the case for all file transfers, whether up or down, whether qwk or not, and perhaps for other protocols too. This is true for both nodes. I'll have to check the screens and get back to you. One thing I may have found - it's been a LONG time since I set this stuff up but in the main bbs directory for each node I found 2 batch files, sz.bat and rz.bat that may or may not be operating in my zmodem setup. They have 2400 for the speed rather than a variable like %2 or %3 or something like that. Of course this file hasn't just changed, and Ididn't have this problem until switching computers. -Jim- --- SLMR 2.1a Second place doesn't count in a gunfight...... --- RyPacker v2.5a * Origin: The Right Place V.34 DS RyBBS 201-947-8231 (1:2604/539) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 256 RYBBS Ref: C4P00006 Date: 04/19/95 From: ROBERT FORGIONE Time: 12:29pm \/To: GREG RYAN (Co-Sysop)(Rcvd) (Read 4 times) Subj: answer I was beginning to think my messages where not getting through to this board via the net, but I find it is here. message number 1061 is the last one dated 3/28/95. I was running a version of DSZ from 1989 as that was the newest I had that was registered . I changed to a DSZ from late 1993 and now it seems the problem disappeared. So.....I then logged on to DSZ's BBS and ordered a new registered version..
