Greg, as of yesterday I have removed all bulletins as the system crashes when any new user logs on and those files are displayed. One thing has happened since the probelm showed up. Well two actually. The first is I started using drivespace on my e drive. That lowered my memory left over to 168,984. The other is that I started running 8.04d then e. It could be the lower memory, but the files/bulletins are really very small. Got any ideas? Dane --- RyPacker v2.7 * Origin: RyBBS HomeBase `Home of RyBBS!' RyBBS always had the ability (and still does) to search email and other mail, ie. all areas, for new personal messages. You gave us the handy startup.bbs option, QUERY MAIL, but there's a problem with using QUERY MAIL as it works now. This gives the users the ability to skip checking the email areas in addition to the other mail areas. Using QUERY MAIL results in it being very hard to contact users via email. My request, like Bobby's, is to enable in some way that users have to scan the email base for new messages even if QUERY MAIL is on. I have had to resort to a special menu with a special security code to contact a few users. Thanks, Bill --- * Origin: V.34 @The Verplank Point Somewhere in NY/NJ (1:2604/539.11) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 256 RYBBS Ref: C4EI1939 Date: 04/06/95 From: ROBERT FORGIONE Time: 06:05pm \/To: JIM HENRY (Read 4 times) Subj: Rypacker 2.7b JH>Well I use Squish for pass-thru with few problems. I'm not real clear JH>on this other stuff you and Bill Mitchell suggested. Like when in the JH>process I should rename the packets, et al. First thing is RYPACKERv2.7b gave me problems also thats why I went back to the old version. I would suggest using version 2.5 again. I am not up on squish. I looked at it and looked at Gecho. Gecho does everything I need including using multi zones in passthru with out a hitch. So I have no need to multi zone rypacker. As long as the Zone is in, or added in the nodelist Gecho has no problems at all multizoning. Oh BTW if Squish has security for mail packets turn it off as rypacker is not giving the packets correct packets IDs. I forget what it's called but I am sure Bill can tell you as I do not do any programing, but I found this out a long time ago.. --- SLMR 2.1a Not getting older, just smarter*(^%#@+ --- RyPacker v2.5a * Origin: Thunderdome - New York City U.S.A.
