And if this is so, why a N for Knight JS> and not a K or is K reserved for King? I'm guessing here. Yes, better format is Nf6-d5 (so you can see in the list which piece was moved)... except for pawn moves there is generally a leading letter for the piece that was moved... the 'K' is reserved for the King, so Knight gets 'N'. Which is in Canada. I don't speak any Spanish but you seem to have your English down so that's good. I also never played chess on message bases before, but i hoping that someone would tell us how to play. The way that i think it is done, from reading the previous games. Is that One player moves and writes it down in the message base and logsoff and waits for player number 2 to respond and make his move. And everyday the game continues on the message base until there is a winner. Can some of the more experienced players tell me if i'm on the right track? Anyways if someone wants to get a game going give me a shout. --- Telegard v3.02/mL * Origin: Underworld Systems V - (416)782-1980 (1:259/416) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 123 CHESS Ref: EBN00003 Date: 07/18/97 From: PAUL STARMACH Time: 05:06pm \/To: ALL (Read 0 times) Subj: chess - rating Does anyone now how to figure out a persons ratings? --- Telegard v3.02/mL * Origin: Underworld Systems V - (416)782-1980 (1:259/416) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 123 CHESS Ref: EBN00004 Date: 07/14/97 From: JAMES RANSON Time: 01:51pm \/To: PETER PICHLBAUER (Read 0 times) Subj: Fido Fall '96 Tourney On Jul 12 17:13, 1997, Peter Pichlbauer wrote: Peter | James ------------------------ 1. f2-f4 | b8-c6 2. e2-e3 | e7-e5 3. f4xe5 | c6xe5 4. g1-f3 | d7-d6 5. b1-c3 | c8-g4 6. f1-e2 | e5xf3 7. e2xf3 | g4xf3 8. d1xf3 | c7-c6 9. e3-e4 | d8-f6 10. 0-0 | 0-0-0 11. f3-e3 | f6-e6 12. e3xa7 | g8-e7 13. d2-d4 | f7-f5 14. a7-a8+ | c8-c7 15. a8-a5+ | c7-c8 16. d4-d5 | e6-e5 17. c1-e3 | c6-c5 James --- Msged 4.10 * Origin: Regina, SK, Canada (1:140/234.2@fidonet) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 123 CHESS Ref: EBN00005 Date: 07/17/97 From: JASON KOZEY Time: 09:50pm \/To: JIM HOLLISTER (Read 0 times) Subj: Re: chess game q6d is my move! I pulled a no brainer when i moved my night! For some unknow reason i didn't even see your bishop. Hopefuly this move will be correct. I am moving my queen right in front of my king. This is putting you in check. I do have some sort of a sheet I down loaded it has a mapped out board and a whole right up. I think that after each move we should ask or tell each other some things. We do live QUITE far apart and surely there is something else also to talk about beside this chess game? I am 15 and like i said i live near regina sask. I think you said you live in pitsburg.
