I'm also a Mac user and a boater to boot and once I find a fair priced Powerbook 180 I'm going to buy a marine navigational software called NavimaQ. I have a friend who has a PC and he uses Navtrac another marine based software which is Windows 95 based. I've seen both nav systems in action and for the money you can't beat the NavimaQ, both in performance and price,$700.00 for Navtrac and only $189.00 US. the NavimaQ comes with BSB Macview and a NMEA 0183 cable so you can connect to any GPS. Here are System requirements Mac Plus or higher,Mac OS 7.0 or higher, at least 2mb memory for NavimaQ,PowerPC recommended to use Maptech Charts, 1mb disk space for NavimaQ and BSB Macview, at least 10 mb disk space recommended for charts, 256 color display and Quick Draw for color and night vision modes,CD-ROM recommended,PC Exchange and Foreign File Access systems extentions to access charts. If you want more information contact Captn.Jack's Software Source,PO Box 65119, Port Ludlow,WA 98365-0119 or call 1-800-227-5225. I found out that I need a new sail when I sent it to a Loff to have grommets added for slides. The guy called back and told me of his inspection of the sail.
