This is a very good time of year for sailing in San Francisco Bay, with milder winds and less heavy fog than in mid-summer. The only downside to autumn and winter sailing is the short day. Sunrise is 0700 and sunset is 1700 right now, but daytime temperatures in San Francisco are 15-20 Celsius, nice and comfortable. It drops to about 10C overnight. Occasionally in January and February, it gets down around freezing, 0-3C, for a day or two, then warms back up. LC> How is your Merit doing? Anyhow, I see you are in the market for a boat, too. I may have found the one I've been looking for. With luck, I check it out this Wed or Thurs. I've raced on it before, but I'm considering making it into a quasi-live-aboard. It definitely has more space then the last one I looked at. Further, it could get me to Hawaii if necessary. :) ...
