Anyway, Ship to Shore is a BBS like any other BBS except that it caters specifically to people interested in sailing. It uses regular telephone lines just like any computer does, and unless you have a cell phone on your boat, it won't be very helpful to until you get back home and log on! I'm not the sysop here, just a user, but I've met many people in Toronto and Vancouver through S2S and some have become good friends. In fact, I relied on S2S to meet sailors when I moved to Vancouver and was out sailing in no time! :^) The only systems still operating in the S2S network are in Toronto and vancouver. All the network is is computers running identical BBS software that have the name "S2S" and process mail between them on a daily basis. The good thing about it is that not only are the message areas sailing/boating specific, but so are teh files! As for speed and handling, get an RX-7. However, make sure it's very low mileage and it really was driven by a little old lady! ... A man has to believe in something. Something like that would be a real plus when racing in unfamiliar waters. After all, we generally hammer the out of town boats in the bay. ... In general, if you are a press-ahead, fast driver who likes to feel the road and goes for sporty performance and superior roadholding, the BMW would be a better choice.
