For he -> most part, use the parts book at your dealer from the outboard is was -> McGyverized from ( a '66 80hp I believe). Thanks for the info Dave. If you have the address it would be most helpful. I'm getting pretty good at the Mcgyver thing.(I almost have to) -> Water does exit from these caps and you should get a light spit out the -> exhaust hole at the back (at the top). The rest goes out with the exaust t -> the bottom of the drive. I did have an over heating problem. I took those two caps and found tow shriveled up cork gaskets, the gasket on the port side was actully blocking the water port. I replaced the gaskets (I had to make my own) and found the o rings at a local hardware store. When I took her out on the river after about an hour she started acting up again. I lifted the cover to find water on the head and found a pin hole in the intake hose on the port side. So far she seems to be running fine { knock on wood} Where in Ont. are you located? While acrylic enamel is an excellent car paint it would not be the best on a fiberglass boat. The proper stuff is called Gel-coat and is mixed like epoxy or fiberglass (a tinted base to which a hardener is added). The key to any GOOD paint job is surface prep followed closely by the appropriate choice of covering and when it comes to paint (like many other things) you get what you pay for. Talk to some guys at boat shops and marinas and invest in good quality paint and paintinequipment. . Many a good job has been spoiled by a cheap paintbrush leaving bristles in the finish. ...
