Is it possible to run os/2 apps under WInnt4? I was looking through it and it looks like some of the programs in it belong to os/2 aswell as some os/2 iles are in there as well. Has anybody tried running os/2 pm apps under NT??? The only OS/2 programs that NT can run are text-mode 16bit apps.. PM apps won't work.. I'm about to try another, but I keep thinking there must be a patch or short batch file I could write to reset that blasted port. Go into your windows mixer program that came with your sound card and check the level of the microphone. It's probably turned off in the mixer. I use the SB16SET program in dos to set up the volume for the mike for voicetype. As far as I can tell (I have NT sitting here), it will only run OS/2 1.x text mode apps (i.e. from the days when OS/2 was developed by MS). There is very little documentation about this feature in NT4, and the experiments I've done prove that it won't recognise 32 bit OS/2 applications at all. The only 16 bit application I have is the 16 bit 4OS2, and that bombed when I tried to run it under NT. I don't have any other 16 bit applications to try out. :-( ...
