I see no buffering at all... I have Merlin b23 on 24M RAM and Sirocco HDD, but on tossing, booting, archiving desktop, rescanning... oh! even smartdrive (...) could be better. If I include RUN=CACHE.EXE string to config, Merlin writes 'Press ENTER to cont' after config.sys executing, and waits for reply upto infinity. :(( Even with RUN=CACHE.exe string I didn't fix any serious changings in speed, and I see no params to change SIZE of cache. ??? or I'm wrong?
