Last version I am aware of is v2.01 for the FULLPACK archive. The included OS2CFG9.ZIP archive is dated, CFGINFO4.ZIP with OS2CFG11.DAT is current. The SIO145a.ZIP should be replaced by the newest SIO155.ZIP archive. The SETTINGS.ZIP archive was at v3.01. Please update your OS/2 Warp system with the WARPINST.EXE archive. ML> We have 4 nodes running on a Wildcat bbs with os/2 win-os2 ML> (bluebinder) and sio and 20 megs ram on 486dx2. We used the ML> settings suggested in the fullpack exactly as written. There are a fair number of settings that Harrison require you to make a judgement call. The default settings for those instances might not be optimal for your system. For example, you didn't mention a CPU speed for your 486DX2. In your OS/2 CONFIG.SYS file, the value of 1 is the holy grail for MAXWAIT, but if your system isn't a speed demon ... MAXWAIT should be 1 (100 MHz); 2 (66MHz); or 3 (25-33 MHz) Also, OSTSR12.ZIP is ineffective in time-slicing DOS apps. TAME333.ZIP is preferred but it is shareware. (grin) The generic idle_sensitivity value of 38 might be too high for some DOS apps. They could still be pinging CPU usage at 100%! Get the MEMSZ320.ZIP archive to monitor CPU usage. ML> However he is running less nodes on a 16 meg system. Using his generic settings and counting, you would be using a total of 12.5 MB of RAM -- plenty of spare memory. ML> We (I) can't seem to figure out how to allocate the memory ML> settings exactly on the dos and winos settings. MS Windows apps are happy with 6 MB or more of DPMI; no EMS; and 64 KB of XMS if DOS_UMB is enabled. VIDEO_8514A_XGA_IOTRAP should be off. DOS apps should get one of four possibilities: DPMI (4 MB+); EMS (1 MB); XMS (1 MB); or _no_ DPMI/EMS/XMS memory enabled. This depends on what the DOS apps actually need. Also, add in 64 KB of XMS if DOS_UMB is enabled. Set VIDEO_WINDOW_REFRESH to 5 for character based DOS apps. ML> And I can't figure out the heck to get in touch with the ML> fullpack author. If you ever find out, please let me know. Tony Harrison was running WildCat! under OS/2 until he was gung-ho about running a 'WildCat! 95 beta' under Windows 95. For me, his Windows 95 BBS experiments started to affect his OS/2 BBS operation. The BBS connections became erratic. I think that his Windows stuff was networked with his OS/2 stuff.
