That's what I was trying to do - getting Duke to run under OS/2 WITH sound. Some people say they can do it.. and I thought you were one of them. Getting it to run without sound is easy. They are FreeCell and MicroHouse Library. The first one complains about requiring Win32S.EXE and Win32S16.dll, and the second says 'invalid directory'. Does Warp with Win-OS2 support Win32s apps? I read OS/2 Warp Unleashed and came away with the opinion it won't (but that wasn't totally clear). Any suggestions about this would be helpful. Even better would be for me to be pointed to a Web site to get a FAQ file on this topic. |\ |/ON --- PCBoard (R) v15.3/25 Beta * Origin: Westonia Computer Systems 1:250/636 (416)241-1981 (1:250/636) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 252 OS2 DOS Ref: DBY00019 Date: 07/21/96 From: DON MARCOTTE Time: 07:02pm \/To: ALL (Read 3 times) Subj: WinOS2 prob correction I mispoke in my previous message. I get a n 'invalid path for DOCPATHCC in MH.INI file' message. I happen to run an HPFS partition (D:) which Win3.1 doesn't see so it labels my CDROM "F:" instead of "G:" as does OS/2. When I looked at the INI file, it showed DOCPATHCC pointing to "F:". However, changing it to "G:" didn't resolve the problem. I still got the same message. There were a few messages that said development was slowed or ceased until IBM released enDIVE (enhanced DIVE) for OS/2. I haven't heard if that's included in Merlin or not. But I suspect DOOM is also starting to show its age, with such games as Rise of the Triad, Duke Nukem 3D, and Quake now showing the true power of the first-person shoot-em-up genre. If there is a DOOM/2, I'll look at it, but I'll probably buy Quake and write several messages to "id" thanking them for developing a program that works well under OS/2 (with sound). Hi Ted, can you tell me the best way to get Quake to run with sound? I've installed quake on the desktop with the lil' os/2 install program and it runs fine, just doesn't have any sound. It seemed to be looking for a CD file/program or some such, make any sense?
