Hello all, Is there a way have CMD automatically start a DOS session when using TShell like it does when the Workplace Shell is being used? I've tried running COMMAND directly, but get a SYS0191, which says COMMAND.COM is a DOS program, and that I should open a DOS session to run it. Why won't it just start a DOS session like when I use the Workplace Shell? Is there an updated version of TShell? I need to use a Text-based task manager for performance reasons (don't want to use WPS with only 6MB RAM). When I have CMD run a *.BAT file, it makes the "This program has performed an access violation" thing come up. I know the START command will do it, but I don't want CMD to continue until the DOS session is finished. Any help would be appreciated. --- Maximus/2 3.01 * Origin: Yuronet (1:215/9874) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 252 OS2 DOS Ref: DBK00002 Date: 07/14/96 From: JOHNNY GREEN Time: 10:22pm \/To: RON MITCHELL (Read 5 times) Subj: Re: OS/2 and Planet Connect software > I've been clicking along very well for about a month running > BirdDroppings for DOS on my Warp machine. All the OS/2 software > runs fine. You might try running the BD for OS/2 that Dave and Vaughn Skinner wrote to receive the Planet Connect signal. During the development of their software, first of which was the DOS version, many Planet Connect customers were in bad need of an OS/2 version. The Skinners (which I believe to be avid fans of OS/2), had written the OS/2 version to be more forgiving and more aware of the OS/2 envirnoment and its time slicing abilities. Rumour has it that the Skinners have since dropped their support of the two programs, (rumor, mind you, only rumour), but this still may be a better option. Another option may be some of the latter versions of the PC1 program from Planet Connect themselves, authored by Jim Shay of Yagi Technoligies, and according to Jim he even has a couple of newer versions that the Planet Connect folks have not released to the public. This might also be a solution if you are interested in running the satellite receive program in the DOS mode. Given the abilities of Warp Connect and it DOS window settings abilities, this may be a better option for you, but this would entirely hinge on your ability to control the other processes that also run on the same machine. .....Johnny --- DB 1.58/005148 * Origin: * CyberByte F/X BBS * ND1-id.001 * (1:130/621) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 252 OS2 DOS Ref: DBK00003 Date: 07/09/96 From: WILL MORGAN Time: 03:45pm \/To: MIKKO HYVARINEN (Read 6 times) Subj: Duke Nukem 3D MH> Robert Ensing wrote in a message to Michael Lavallee: ML> You might want to know that Quake runs fine under OS/2 Warp, with MH> Nope, it runs fine with my friend's 486dx4/100 + VLB Cirrus Logic MH> 5428.
