The problem I thought you'd encounter using Hydra via Zmodem and v.34 connects is that v.34 connects allow the modems to use different transmit and receive speeds to more fully utilize the total bandwidth. Each modem can make this change without the need for a total retrain. Therefore, it seems like with Hydra, that the modems would be constantly switching speeds (xmit/recv -- 28800/16800 then 16800/28800) and cause so much overhead that the performance penalty would outweigh the advantage of the bi-directional protocol. -Frank (fsexton@xpert.net - http://www.concentric.net/~fsexton) --- Blue Wave/OS2 v2.30 * Origin: Wildcard BBS,Thornton,CO HST/V34+ +1-303-252-0491 (1:104/725) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 251 OS2 BBS Ref: EAE00015 Date: 06/09/97 From: FRANK SEXTON Time: 08:33pm \/To: QUENN FINCH (Read 0 times) Subj: Mailer password session -=> /* Quoting Quenn Finch to Bill Kirby */ <=- QF> I have look for the place to type in the password QF> session for AdeptX mailer. But, I can't seem to fine QF> it. QF> Can you show me step by step on how do set it up. Session passwords are done in the Type 7 nodelist. I use QNODE here. I put the following in my QNODE.CTL and then compile the nodelist normally. PASSWORD 1:104/251 ONEPWD PASSWORD 1:104/627 TWOPWD etc... Don't forget to recompile the nodelist after inserting the passwords in the control file. Even if you use a different type 7 nodelist compiler, the technique should be similar. Just check out your nodelist compiler docs and look for the password section. This really isn't a part of Adept, but instead, it's part of the type 7 nodelist compiler. QF> Another question is, how do I force poll my mail QF> anytime I want. I can't find it on the pull down menu. Use the right mouse button on the Outbound Files window and choose POLL Node. -Frank (fsexton@xpert.net - http://www.concentric.net/~fsexton) --- Blue Wave/OS2 v2.30 * Origin: Wildcard BBS,Thornton,CO HST/V34+ +1-303-252-0491 (1:104/725) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 251 OS2 BBS Ref: EAF00000 Date: 06/09/97 From: ROBERT TODD Time: 11:54pm \/To: NICKY MORROW (Read 0 times) Subj: Pkzip/2 V2.50 Is Now Ava In a message dated 06-07-97, Nicky Morrow said to Matt Ion: NM>I posted the news as I felt some folks might be interested. I have no such problems with it here, and neither does the other guy in the area that runs Adept. You might try downloading the latest version V.109.70 at the moment from bkirby's web site, address below, and see if that will help you out... lots of changes made since your version... If that doesn't get ya going, give Bill a shot in email and see if he can help ya out, he's good with Adept and helps a lot of guys.
