For sure.......I can certainly agree with this statement. I must admit I have never tried out the AdeptBBS front-end so am not sure if it would totally meet my needs or not ( I can't see any possible reason it wouldn't though as my setup is pretty basic) but the reason I haven't tried it out is the AdeptBBS sections are so tightly integrated. It's pretty well pointless of me to setup just the front end when the other two sections don't support my current setup. If I did go ahead and set up the total AdeptBBS package then I might find at some future date that the front-end doesn't support whatever new function I might need. As I mentioned in my original message though, the front-end is kinda a minor point...........:-) AR> But then I didn't go out a pay to register a lot of 3rd-party AR> prgms to put together a system. So when I did register Adept I AR> didn't feel like I was throwing way a lot of money for useless AR> obsolete prgms that did nothing more than what Adept had AR> integrated. But then again a year or two down the road, updates to those programs could possibly give you even better features than AdeptBBS provides.........if there is no flexability with respect to external program integration, then where does that leave you? AR> Are your "drawbacks" based on giving up prgms you already paid AR> for or some practical function? As I mentioned in my previous message, the biggest drawback is the lack of Squish support. There are a *lot* of Squish related support programs out there and some that I use on a regular basis (all freeware I might add..........big kudos to the various software authors of these programs too!). I also run registered versions of BlueWave and Xpress mail doors (and have registered off-line mail readers for both too). The hardest ones for me to possibly give up though would be my freeware, GUI, Squish/MSG, rexx aware mail reader and my squish based message areas.........so the bottom line really in my particular case is not cash outlay per say but flexibility. My future plans do include setting up a full blown install of AdeptBBS and thereby offering my callers a logon selectable choice between the two BBS packages but this will have to wait until such a time as when I can upgrade to a bigger harddrive so that I can have enough room to carry two sets of message areas. PS..........is there a Squish to Adept message area conversion program available, would you happen to know?
