I'm pleased to report that IBM will continue its support of Team OS/2 activity in North America for 1996. IBM will also support PC user groups and OS/2 special interest groups in 1996. | IBM has a long history of supporting PC User Group activity, and we are committed to supporting this user community. IBM will continue to request invitations to present IBM software to user group members, and provide evaluation software for user group newsletters. We will sponsor user group officer events such as APCUG/Spring Comdex in Chicago June 1-5, and Intergalactic June 15. Our team looks forward to meeting many of you at these events, and welcomes E-mail from all user group members who seek IBM information. | IBM appreciates the grassroots marketing and support efforts of Team OS/2. IBM appreciates what Team OS/2 has accomplished for OS/2, and would very much like to see that enthusiastic support for the product continue. Teamers who hold OS/2 demonstrations will continue to receive materials for events from IBM. The support staff will do more to communicate information from IBM to Team OS/2, using mailing lists and echoes to publish this information. We'll take Teamer requests and concerns back to IBM. And we'll encourage Teamers to help fellow Teamers in promoting and supporting OS/2. With the upcoming beta of Merlin, we want to have Teamers help make the new version of Warp as successful as possible. | A four person team will be responsible for this activity. Anita Venable, Arylnn Poczynek, Richard Woolsey, and Terry Hamilton will act as the support group for both Team OS/2 and PC User Groups. | Over the next few weeks, we'll be putting up a set of Web pages with more information. We'll start collecting information on Merlin and let you know where and when to obtain it. And we'll keep sending support packages out when requested. | | To contact us, you can start by sending E-mail: | Team OS/2: teamers@ibm.net PC User Groups: ibmpcug@ibm.net | We will monitor newsgroups such as comp.org.usergroup.* and alt.org.team-os2. We are creating a mailing list for Team OS/2 Relations, at the following address: | ibmplan-l@teamos2.org | Our Internet web pages: | Team OS/2: www.teamos2.org/ibm PC User Group: www.austin.ibm.com/pspinfo/ibmpcug.html | | We'll post information here on a regular basis over the next few weeks, directing you to more resources as they come on-line. | Grassroots marketing - successful grassroots marketing - will be critical to IBM's success with OS/2 Warp. It's our hope that user groups and Team OS/2 will find new ways to help users of OS/2, and encourage others to try OS/2 Warp. | Keep in touch, | Arylnn Poczynek Richard Woolsey Anita Venable Terry Hamilton | Team OS/2 Relations at IBM IBM PC User Group Support ===================END FORWARDED MESSAGE=================== | /////////////////////////////////OS/2/////////////////////////////////// Terry Hamilton tch@ibm.net torvm3(tch) | TEAM OS/2 Relations teamers@ibm.net Phone:905-316-2406 IBM User Group Support ibmpcug@ibm.net Fax:512-838-9821 | | | /// IBMPLAN-L: To be removed from this list, send email containing the line "unsubscribe ibmplan-l" to majordomo@teamos2.org | ------------------------------ | Date: Thu, 2 May 1996 20:33:32 -0400 (EDT) From: James FitzGibbon Subject: IBMPLAN-L: Test | Test, please ignore. | - -- j. | - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- | James FitzGibbon james@teamos2.org | | TeamOS/2 Online admin Voice/Fax : 416 410-0100 | - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | /// IBMPLAN-L: To be removed from this list, send email containing the line "unsubscribe ibmplan-l" to majordomo@teamos2.org | ------------------------------ | Date: Tue, 07 May 96 05:14:33 -0500 From: "Terry C. As a Teamer at Comdex I always get some value from the vendors who show up and demo for us. | The Comdex coordination I've done in the past usually tends to gather comments like "we could have been prepped a little more in the morning". These sessions should take care of these questions/comments/problems too. | Okay, so assuming everyone like the ideas has anyone got any additional "training sessions" that we should have while we've got an audience to see it? | Is there ANYTHING that YOU want to learn that we can get someone to teach you? | Is there something you know that YOU want to take some time and share? | | We are here to help so, geeezzz, start asking for stuff! :-) --- * Origin: Seoul Computer Club BBS (6:760/4) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 251 OS2 BBS Ref: DBF00010 Date: 07/10/96 From: STEPHEN CASE Time: 01:09am \/To: EVERYONE (Read 2 times) Subj: Team OS/2 /////////////////////////////////OS/2/////////////////////////////////// Terry Hamilton tch@ibm.net torvm3(tch) | TEAM OS/2 Relations teamers@ibm.net Phone:905-316-2406 IBM User Group Support ibmpcug@ibm.net Fax:512-838-9821 | ------------------------------ | Date: Tue, 07 May 1996 08:49:12 -0400 From: Jason Perlow Subject: Re: IBMPLAN-L: Feedback on COMDEX Plans | At 05:14 AM 5/7/96 -0500, you wrote: >It's been very quiet around here.... > >Just curious how folks feel about our ideas for >the COMDEX (and other show) education sessions? | COMDEX is nice but I think Team OS/2 should be at Networld+Interop Atlanta (September) This is going to be a very big show for Windows NT 4.0 (because of its release in August) and Team OS/2 should be there with Merlin to counter the MS marketing blitz. | I am a session chair at N+I and I know the program staff. How many Teamers are going to be at N+I? Please post a note in this list if you will be attending N+I in Atlanta in September. /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\OS/2/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ | Arylnn Poczynek arylnn@ibm.net Phone:905-316-2468 IBM PC User Group Support ibmpcug@ibm.net Fax:512-838-9821 Team OS/2 Relations teamers@ibm.net | ------------------------------ | Date: Tue, 07 May 96 14:53:00 -0500 From: "Terry C. Not before simply because it may be a little confusing with all this planning going on for so much stuff. | | /////////////////////////////////OS/2/////////////////////////////////// Terry Hamilton tch@ibm.net torvm3(tch) | TEAM OS/2 Relations teamers@ibm.net Phone:905-316-2406 IBM User Group Support ibmpcug@ibm.net Fax:512-838-9821 |
