I'm waiting on the upgrade here right now -> since converting my BBS system to OS/2 recently. I understand your concerns -> with the mailer problems, but I get the feeling that much of the real -> problems will be corrected in the 15.23/3 release (I could be wrong as I -> haven't messed with the beta yet). Yes, I actually have a copy of PCB-OS2 that I purchased from Clark when t was first released....I was under the impression at that time the the fido ad been fixed. I was also discouraged to learn that they had rushed the release in order to get started on their newest product line. Seems to me that they pushed it out way to soon and until I see the fix actually take place, I an't see putting it online as is. I really like PCBoard, I must like it I've been running it since spring of 1988. It's just my job keeps me away from home extended periods of time and I can't be running buggy software that's gonna cause me to lose my node number just because it failed in some way. So, I've got a couple of paths to choose here, one is AdeptXBBS and the other so far s PCB2 in conjunction with a 3rd party OS2 based frontend. It's still up in he air at this time since I've also gotta consider my UUCP account and how much trouble that's gonna be to deal with when dealing with AdeptXBBS software as compared to doing it with PCB2. I haven't messed with the beta yet, though I do know that the early betas didn't have anything done to the fido part of he equation. They did promise that there is work to be done on that part later in the beta cycle. Go figure, the very thing that everyone has complained about is the same thing that they're putting on the back burner of the beta cycle. Seems to me that should be the other way around. Thanks for the reply, I'm still weighing it all out to see which way is the most feasible way for me nd the situation I'm in. You can do a few things.. in the RESOURCE.DAT: SYSTEM.MultiTasker TRUE (this is what should do the trick) EXPANDEDSWAPPING TRUE (speed) SpecialEffects FALSE (speed) System.Fossil TRUE (if you use os/2 it's much faster to use vx00 LockBaudRate 57600 (or what ever) give that a shot. the Vx00 fossil (sio) is a much faster way for a the dos program to get to the comports.. it saves a few steps. and some CPU time. --- * Origin: DarK AxiuM 'Help me im in hell' (1:141/497)
