It has served me well until recently. I would like to be able to print checks without having to pay the outrageous price charged for "Quicken compatible" checks. My version of Quicken only supports 3 kinds of checks. Each has been made just a bit different from the standard bank check that you can't get the print in the right place. Has anyone had success in 1) finding a version of Quicken that lets you set up the check printing template to fit any size check? or 2) tickling the insides of Quicken so that you can alter their templates? --- TMail v1.31.5 * Origin: MultiSystem * Cincinnati, OH * 513-231-7013 * (1:108/205) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 249 QUICKEN Ref: DF400008 Date: 11/04/96 From: CAROLE CAPUANO Time: 09:19am \/To: BRUCE WILSON (Read 8 times) Subj: Re: Cash & Quicken On Nov 01, 1996 07:07am, BRUCE WILSON wrote to CAROLE CAPUANO: BW> On 31 Oct 96 04:00pm, CAROLE CAPUANO wrote to BRUCE WILSON: CC>> Well then Quicken/DOS is limited, just like the OS. I agree with all these statements, but my original question was why use a asset account to setup a liability, nothing more, nothing less. You answer is basically the DOS version doesn't allow reconciliation of a liability/card card account. Upgrade to Quicken 6 and then you can. But you're not ready yet.... cya, carole ... I definitely do like the "Details View" button on the Portfolio screen that pops up a screen of information about the currently highlighted investment. The details shows the list of all transactions for that security, the current value of your position in that security and cost basis and %gain/loss, and a nice graph of high/low/close. This convenient display of the data might alone have been worth the upgrade price ($29.99 at Computer City plus a $10 rebate coupon in the box). But, the ability to update all of my stocks and mutual funds over the internet (with high, low, close, and volume data) for free is GREAT. I used to do that once or twice a week using the Quicken networth site portfolio option (and the import prices option). But, it is indeed MUCH simpler to automate the update of all the prices with one click of the mouse!! --- * Origin: Splitting Atom *RiverVale NJ* 201-573-9262 *HST/V34+ (1:2604/2)
