I have a question or two. 1. When I get an error count in the Qmpro DL window is it a bad DL or did the modem correct the mistake? I know I "should" know this but I don't. I have a Zoom 14.4 v32/v42 fax modem. I use Qmpro 1.53 (dos version) from Windows 95. I usually have no error counts but once in a while I get one or two. Should I dl those files again and dump the first download? I have a strange new problem I hope someone can help me with. I have Qmodem Pro V2 for Windows 95, Practical Peripherals 14400fx modem, and Windows 95. Qmodem works fine when I call any BBS and downloads at 1630 CPS. No hang ups or problems. I just setup the host portion in order to pass files with co-workers and customers. Nowhere in the docs or on-line help does it say how to configure the sysop portion or give callers any security clearance other than 0. I edited the HOST.USR file and changed my log on to 1 (sysop). Now I am recognized as the sysop. The problem I have that I can't figure out is why does a download to my caller only pass 550 CPS? The caller is running a proven USR 28800. A 900k file takes over 30 minutes to send. It's Hell on long distance. The modem is properly configured and recognized as a 14400 PP as my using it has verified over the past several years. Any and all suggestions will be checked out and I thank you. --- * OLXWin 1.00a * Press any key to continue or any other key to quit --- HyperMail 1.20 * Origin: Data Systems Internat'l (407)292-8009 Call Today! There is no need to perform a second download on these types of files. If the file transfer was properly completed that is. If the transfer was aborted, then you would have to download again. If you are cut off in middle of a download and go back online, Zmodem will start where it left-off. If you logon with real bad phone connection Zmodem will drop 1024k blocks to 512k block, it very rare. If this happens, its best to logoff and try again.
