It sounds like you might have used the PIF editor in the Main geoup, but that won't put an icon into any program manager groups. You have to do that as a separate step. If you used Set Up Apps, I can't explain why it didn't work, but you can set it up manually anyway. In the Program Manager, open the File menu, then click on New.... Choose the Program Item radio button. When the Properties box opens, fill in the path and name of the PIF file. My setup is as follows. Bob: Under Toggles from the Select Device To Edit Menu, do you have an X beside CTS/RTS indicating Set ON. If this is set on, QmPro uses hardware handshaking between the modem and your computer. If this is not ON, this will cause a modem buffer overflow resulting in an aborted transfer. This is required for high speed modems. BR>I'm using a Hayes Ultra 14400 internal fax/modem (fax not activated)with >the 16550A chip, under Windows For Workgroups 3.11, in a Pentium 100MHz >computer. When I originally posted my plea for help, I had a Pentium 75, >but I returned that and got the 100MHz. Everything else was the same. Without the above set on, your computer is sending data faster than the modem can accept it, causing the buffer overflow. It says that in a rather confusing way in the QmPro Manual....
