JP>I really like QMPro but I have had problems with it. This is the latest: I love it too. JP> I'm in the middle of using my OLX mail reader and it hangs. JP>What has happened to the replies I have already worked on? Probably are saved, unless you have to do a reboot. Then they may still be saved. I have found that OLX wont save the replies until after you exit out of OLX. JP>Why is it hanging anyway? Don't know. It could be several reasons: 1. What version of Qmodem Pro are you using? Some of the earlier versions had a bad Pkunzip pgm built into it. If you have a version less then 1.50 Try this. Select Options, Then Packers, then un select use Internal Zip/Unzip. Make sure Pkzip / Pkunzip is in a directory that is in your path statement such as dos or windows. I have also noticed that if I get a bad .QWK packet it will freeze up OLX. Try moving or deleting your .QWK packets and get a known good packet and try that. (Long shot here) Check Options / Directories and be sure your Qwk in and Rep out are set correctly they should be for Qwk in C:\qmpro\download and for Rep out C:\qmpro\upload. Also be sure your Work directory is set to something like c:\temp One last thing. If you do not have version 1.53 look around and try and find the upgrade patches. You can get them from the Mustang bbs at 805-873-2400. But being in Canada the Phone call may be pricy. So if you have Telnet you can reach them at bbs.mustang.com If all else fails net mail me at the address below with your address and I will send you the upgrade patches. JP>Is this a QMP problem or an OLX problem? probably OLX But need more info to go on. Such as what are you doing when it hangs? What does it do when it hangs? Your operating system DOS, Windows? Your computer? How much memory. Good Luck Ken * QMPro 1.53 * People say I'm indecisive. Am I? I don't know. --- Maximus/2 2.02 * Origin: Tesla's Tower 5 BBS * Maximus WARP'd! If the competition continues to improve their product and QMP drags there, then sales will go to the more advanced product, thus a slow down in sales, thus less development and finely no product. So as can be seen it is a circle. There is also something called Created Sales, like Windows 95. Now everybody out pushing sales there with a produce that ONLY works there. Then someone creates a product that in W95. After you start the base and then add a 'locked in' product. the new owner is forced to remain in that circle. Sales then drop for DOS, and on down the line till you have forced ALL of Dos off the market and no more QMP for dos will be developed. So if you want MS-DOS based products like QMP for DOS, SUPPORT DOS. Lyle M. Taylor - Rapid City, So. Dak - RaceNet 7223:7200/643 FidoNet 1:293/643 - Internet Lyle.taylor@f643.n293.z1.fidonet.org ...
