I won't say it CAN'T exist, since someone may know something that I don't. But since the decision to either shunt the call off to the busy signal or try another line has to be made by your TelCO central office switching equipment. The only technically-implementable way to do this that I can envision would be if the TelCo could provide a *xx-type code which would enable/disable the hunt feature when entered from the primary line, but I've never seen such a service offered or advertised. --- RBBSMail v18.2 * Origin: The Spacedock Bbs (203) 666-4999 21.6K HST/DS (1:142/499.0) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 248 QMODEM USER Ref: CEB00002 Date: 10/05/95 From: BOB SEABORN Time: 08:58am \/To: KEN GORLEY (Read 6 times) Subj: Question > I Too Love Qmodem Pro for DOS and have used it for years and will > continue to use it...... I've been pointed in a couple of directions, one being to pursue the scripting avenue and another as being a "point" off my local BBS, with shareware programs available that work through the Wildcat environment. One of the programs is COMMO65.zip. The name of the other program escapes me right now. But, If you're interested, let me know and I'll forward to you the raft of info I've received with program names, BBS numbers, author names; etc. One author has even offered to send a disc with a program partially configured to ease in my set-up operation. I've received a raft of replies and it appears as though there are programs out there to do this. I haven't tried any of them yet, but I plan on doing so as soon as I can D/L them. I've been pointed to three programs that sound very promising. 1)COMMO65.ZIP My response came from Jim Bennett, a BBS sysop, who provided the following information: 1-520-290-2807 Logon as "Commo Release" using the password "Guest." According to Mr. Bennett, This presents a list of {COMMO} related files and the caller is allowed to D/L up to 5 files at a time. 2)ICOM201A.ZIP ICOM201B.ZIP ICOM201C.ZIP The author of this program is Wayne Duff. The sysop said to call 1-909-274-9634, Logon as "ICOM VISITOR" and use the password "ICOM." Then you will be able do D/L ICOM201*.ZIP. Per the sysop, this is a free D/L on the first call. I was also told about a program called "Front Door," but this is all I know about this file. When I get more info on this one, I'll pass it along. I've also heard from more than one person to bag the Qmodem Script avenue as an answer in that it is lengthy and complicated to get debugged. I'm not going to give up on scripting completely...yet. But if there is an easier way to get my system automated, I'll find it. Sure hope this helps you. I've been really pleased with all the help I've received so far. The problem here is, that you apparently misunderstood what they were indicating. You can indeed configure QmodemPro for DOS to utilize up and download directories that are different from the QWK/REP directories utilized by OLX v1.53. However, doing so does not mean that QmodemPro for DOS sends or receives .QWK mail packets to or from the separate directories. Your apparent belief that it should, is incorrect. If you wish your QWK/IN directory to be different from your QmodemPro for DOS download directory, that's just fine and you can have it that way. However, it necessarily means that after you download a new .QWK mail packet, that it is also necessary for you to manually move it from the download directory to the QWK/IN directory so that OLX can find it. * OLX 1.53 * New mail not found.
