I also have OLX for windows that works right along with QmodemPro. So ask away, I have my macros set, and everything else. I'm using a Hayes Ultra 14400 internal FAX/modem (fax not activated), in a Pentium 75Mhz computer. The init. string in the modem dialog box says ATZ^M. Seems kind of short to me, based on some of the strings I've seen other people post for other modems. But, as I'm obviously NOT a modem whiz (started using one about a month or so ago), I don't know if that's causing my problem and haven't attempted to change anything?! The "modem manual" that came with this box is about 6 pages in the Users Manual. Do you understand it? I discovered that my QMPFW program won't upload anything but small QWK packet replies a couple weeks ago, when I tried to u/l a 465,000 byte file to a BBS. The u/l started, and everything looked fine, until I got the "CRAAASH!" WAV sound. It's not a problem with the BBS, because the same thing happens on every BBS I've tried. It isn't a problem with my computer, because I've u/led successfully with ProComm DOS, Telix For Windows 1.10, and PowerAccess! What really (Oh, just remembered, I have a 16550A chip) puzzles me is that the u/l doesn't crash at the same place all the time, and there is no warning whatsoever!!! It just stops transmitting where ever (35,000, 132,000, 257,000, etc. bytes) it feels like it!, and I'm left staring at the BBS screen that says the transfer was aborted!!! One other problem that I just noticed, when I logged on recently to a new BBS. Don't know if it relates to the above, but when I get to the "What is your first name" screen, this is where my name is to be typed: (084822C7ECB09ECC776298A9F5F13A1D) Nope, I'm not joking! I copied it exactly as it appears! The sysop says he's never seen this before, and it must be my modem/comm program sending an extra string of commands, but he doesn't know what, or why, or how to fix it! Well, Fred, you probably regret responding, after reading all of this, but I don't know how to differentiate between too much and not enough info, when trying to solve a major disfunction with a comm program. If you're still game, I'll appreciate all the help you can give me. I really like this QMPFW program, but I need to be able to u/l for my small business, as well as having fun, so if I can't correct it, I'm going to have to go to another program that I don't like as well!
