When I call a number in the phone book, the software uses pre-defined terminal emulation, script file, and modem settings automatically. If I set the phone book entry for OCC to "RIP", then the auto-detect on Wildcat! gives me RIP. If I call using my standard "ANSI" setting, the auto-detect gives me color ANSI. I find the terminal emulation setting very handy when I set up accounts that I call routinely. --- * QMPro 1.53 * He does the work of 3 Men...Moe, Larry & Curly --- WILDMAIL!/WC v4.12 * Origin: Orangeburg Computer Club (1:3647/25.0) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 248 QMODEM USER Ref: CCD00001 Date: 08/07/95 From: PATRICK CAMPBELL Time: 11:01pm \/To: ALL (Read 7 times) Subj: Help! Hello all, I need some help!! I currently run one line on my bbs. I'd like to add an additional line, but am having problems installing the second modem. I am succesfully running on COM1, IRQ4, BASE: 03F8H a 28.8, v34 modem. On COM2, IRQ3, BASE: 02F8H, I am totally _unsuccessfully_ (attempting) to run a 14.4 v42 modem. My problem is, when I go into the COM program it says: CTS signal is down. Clear to Send AND Data set ready are both showing up as NO. The uart is only an 8250 (I don't know why though.. It shouldn't really matter). These modems are both internal. Well first of all we need to know the version of QModem you are using. I am assuming the test drive version. In answer to your first question, yes there is a Windows version of Qmodem put out by Mustang Software. Not bad, in my opinion, but as far as Windows comm programs go, I still like Procomm. Second question, if you are using the test drive version, you are halfway there. I am assuming you have selected your programs to download. Those garbage characters are from the remote BBS. Hit Page-Down. A menu screen will pop up. Select "Z" for Zmodem (assuming that is what protocol you selected from the remote BBS). A prompt will appear asking you which directory you would like to download those files to. Once you hit enter the download will begin.
