I still use Qmodem 5.0, and love it. I am not a windows man. I was but am getting away from it since I started my own BBS. I have used Telix and Comit...Telix was a staple for many years until I discovered Qmodem 5.0. Comit is the worst program I have ever tried to use. Has long been deleted...hehehe. On my mail network, I still use Telix...only because the script was easier to write. But Qmodem is tops in my book. Congrats to mustang software. Only one thing I don't understand about it. What is the qmodem.bew? Will come up sometimes and say something about being deleted. Well...now at least there's two of us. JB:>I have Qmodem Pro for Windows. My question is how can I set up extra JB:>protocols? I can't find any place to add them... From terminal mode, hit alt z, select configuration, select protocols, then external, then add, (I'm assuming of course windows version is just like the dos version). --- * QMPro 1.53 * ------*=S#The Police Station 615-226-7841#S=*------ --- QScan/WC v1.17b / 01-0550 * Origin: The Police Station BBS * Nashville, TN * 615-226-7841 (1:116/6) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 248 QMODEM USER Ref: CBT00004 Date: 07/22/95 From: ANTHONY BAILEY Time: 02:51pm \/To: ALL (Read 6 times) Subj: Host Mode Hey guys, I am using QmPro 1.52 and can not figure out how to change user access on host mode, so that other users can access the computer via dosshell using the password. Try this: Proper syntax to send email to Fidonet from Internet is: firstname.lastname@p#.f#.n#.z#.fidonet.org To send mail to a FidoNet user, you not only need the name, but the exact FidoNet address s/he uses. FidoNet addresses are broken down into zones, net, nodes, and (optionally) points. For example, the address of one Fido BBS is "1:102/834". The zone is 1, the net is 102, the node is 834. A user's address could include a point as well: "1:102/834.1" - the final 1 is the point. I have never had any luck making a script (either piecing it together or putting the program on "learn" mode.) I would like to have a script that would call the two or three BBS's I get mail from (one is a GAP BBS running Mainmail and the other is a Wildcat board running wcMAIL.) I would like to be able to start the script, leave for work, and when I get home, have the program call the bbs's, log in, upload a .rep packet, download the new .qwk packet and log off. I need to have this happen by itself (without me having to stand by it and help it.) The few scripts I have made with QmodemPro always stop in the middle of the script and never restart or continue. I've looked at Mustang Software BBS HQ and they have nothing that will do this. Any one have sucess with this?? -Scott Underwood (internet) scott.underwood.981@rime.com --- OLX 2.2 TD Safe Drivig Tip: Drive slowly on California Freeways * Origin: NAEMT BBS : 1-800-64-NAEMT (1:3632/80)
