It has a host mode. In host TB>mode, how do you get " Other Options" to work?? When I try to use it, TB>it says, "Open script command not available". Can anybody help me?? Qmodem is telling you that a "script" must be available to be run from this option and one has not been configured. If you have the docs for qmodem 4.6td there is a rather lengthy section on the script language that qmodem uses. You can use a script when phoning a bbs to automate your log on or to pick up your mail even! Qmodem reads the script like a program and executes the commands there. If you had a script configured (don't know how either) then when the user pressed `o' Qmodem would execute the script. I would say that you would probably have to write a script as well :) --- SLMR 2.1a My reality check just bounced. * Origin: On Your Six! Canada's Flight Sim BBS! I have a lot -->of messages CUT by OLX. They appear normal on the BBS, but the quoted -->messages are sliced, and the TOPIC: is cut off if it gets too long. -->Why? You need to go into your configuration and set Olx so that it can store more than a set amount of lines. Some of the shareware versions of Olx have the lines set at 66, which will cut off a lot of important things if the message is long at all, but set it as high as it can go and you should have unrestricted access to all of the message. The last registerable (Forbin) release was 4.3x (I don't remember what the last x was). All "TD" releases (4.5x & 4.6) were Mustang releases. As for "buggy", if anyone can identify a problem in 4.6 that 4.52 doesn't have, I'd like to hear about it. I've used 4.6 trouble-free for nearly a year now, as I did 4.52 before it. Sorry; that manual is my "bible" for script language and ONE of these days I'll crank up Pro again. It DOES have some features I'd like to use, and the main reason I'm still on 46TD is that I publish a local- area BBS list and depend heavily on a program that I wrote that extracts data from the FON file and also allows me to rearrange it, which I do frequently. Pro's totally reformatted FON file, plus the addition of GRP files, make the conversion of my program, which currently supports 4.x and 5.x FON formats, a major undertaking which I began long ago but have lacked the time to complete. Meanwhile, 46TD does the job. I think you should double check that statement. Also the last release was actually 5.01 but this was a patched release. I still have the patch if you want a copy. Fixes a few source bugs I think, Didn't notice a huge change myself. Also takes olx to 2.2, uses ALOT less memory :) Question... Does the new olx in qmodem pro or winolx support internet address books? olx 2.2 doesn't seem to want to go past 15 characters for an address. All the *TD* releases can be 'registered' with your registration code that you got from Forbin. To my mind, that makes them 'registerable'. .....Bob --- GE 1.11+ / IM 2.29c * Origin: From the Keyboard of the Echo Moderator (1:140/12.1)
