Yea QMODEM PRO is all around more, reliable, but has LESS features, it dosnt have easy 100% guaranteed log on's without KEYS or SCRIPTS, in terminate you define password-name and just do ant-n and alt-s at log on, also during a terminate Z,Y,X modem download, you can use the file manager, play tetris etc..... I still am a die hard QMODEM PRO fan, but if they want to stay atop the market they need a new version with more features QUICKLY!!! GO QMODEM PRO! --- QMPro 1.53 Misspelled? Impossible. I cannot make up my mind between purchasing Qmodem Pro for DOS or for Windows. I am equally at home using either, but I have always had reservations about using Windows for Modem apps due to past problems with speed. I also wonder about Windows 4.0 support(IF it ever is released!). Since I do NOT boot to Windows, it is also much easier to access DOS programs. BUT, I get the impression that the Windows version has MORE features and better looks. I used procomm -> plus for a number of years and never had this problem, but since -> switching to qmodem, I have never successfully pulled it off. i believe you can do this a couple of ways... Usually however the BBS DOOR comm program willtell you how to set it up for themajor comm packages outthere. but here are some suggestions. 1> you can SHELL out to dos, then run the program, or 2> EXIT QMPRO leaving the DTR signal UP, in other words when it asks you drop to dos Yes, or No or eXit leaving DTR up, then pick the X leaving your DTR up, you will have to RESTART QMPRO when your done, but your DTR signal will remain up this way allowing you to continue while online... good luck... When I purchased Qmodem v5.0x back in December, it was $25. It sounds like they've lowered their price even more. I then upgraded to Qmpro v1.xx for $45 after registering Qmodem. Both offers included shipping. That's a total of $70. My alternative was to order Qmpro, only, from a mail-order house. The best price I could find for this was $70. The way I see it is that Mustang gives you two for the price of one. --- QMPro 1.53 MSI HQ! I set up an external protocol for the term that I need to use and I set up a bat file for it. Here is the one that I have for the PIT. @echo off cd \pit ansipit %2 %3 cd \qm It works fine if you need to pass the comport and the speed to the term itself. If it is set like it is in Tradewars helper then you can assign a Fkey to it and make sure you have the shell command before the command for the term. That is the two ways I have made it work and I hope it will help you out.
