[----------^^^^ you said the above ^^^^-----------] If you can pry it up a "hair" to allow some oil/penerate to get in the shaft. Place a small rag/paper towel with a rubber band to hold in place and soak with kerosene or light oil. Allow to set for a few days or less(check it), repeat if required. Now if it's not stuck because of gunk or bent, it maybe the flexible shaft that attachs to the innards is worn and the motor drive can't fully extend it then you need to replace. good luck -_-_-Bill --- * Origin: Bordertown - Telegram from the Border (1:234/43) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 246 AUTOMOTIVE Ref: F5G00105 Date: 05/02/98 From: BILL REYNA Time: 07:24am \/To: WILLIAM EPPS (Read 0 times) Subj: The real price > I know for a fact that the sheriff dept where I > live is buying them in > lots for about 13,000 each. [----------^^^^ you said the above ^^^^-----------] That's not the end price of a criuser, I'm pretty sure that's only for the basic car, not a fully equiped patrol car. After all is said and done, a patrol costs around $30-35k with all the goodies. You could be more basic of a patrol unit and it costs roughly $25k. Alot of that cost is the labor to convert or really install the added items that wouldn't come from the factory and that means "labor" plus the items installed. For some towns that also means it's done outside of their region and shipped to them. -_-_-Bill --- * Origin: Bordertown - Telegram from the Border (1:234/43) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 246 AUTOMOTIVE Ref: F5G00106 Date: 05/02/98 From: TOM WALKER Time: 04:56am \/To: DAVE GOSTL (Read 0 times) Subj: RE:ENERGY ABSORBING BUMPE -> Does hooking a chain between the bumper and a tree sound like a good -> idea? In other words, would the tubes slide out smoothly, or do they -> need to be hammered out? Using a Strap around a big tree would work. But I would not recommend potting the car i nreverse and jerking it out. Either get a chain fall type or wire rope hoist and pull it out slowly. If you are lucky enough to have a friend with a Winch on his 4WD that would work also. --- Platinum Xpress/386/Wildcat! v1.3e * Origin: The Alien Biker Kat BBS/Wildcat/PX.
