She skips when hard pulling, like going up hill towing a trailer. Most times it runs smooth. Fuel economy is about the same as it has always been, about 14 mpg, on the road, pulling the trailer, AC on. No doubt, mileage has been affected, but not so much that I can tell it without a calculator. I still fill up at the same stations when I'm on the road . Don't know, but I suspect that it does have an O2 Sensor. The computer seems to be in control of most functions. GH> If it is Fuel Injected you'll most likley get a SES light. It is, and I do now, intermittently. The SES light comes on and goes off. Dealership tech says that it leaves no codes. I might try temporarily removing the CC just to see what affect it has, while in the process of replacing it. GH> So guess my advise is leave it like it is or replace it with another > converter in most states you have to to pass Inspection. No inspection in Alabama. I have seen a number of these that were intermittently failing in a bit earlier models. I do not see how a bad cat. would/could cause INTERMITTENT mis-fires. They usually are solidly bad when they get plugged. Act the same as a plugged muffler. If the exhaust can't get out of the exhaust system, the enging can't run - it's that simple. It HAS to go somewhere. You say it USUALLY skips a beat when going uphill. That is when the greatest load is placed on the ignition - extra gas in the combustion chamber, etc. Again, IF the ignition module hasn't been replaced that is what I'd try.
