Unless the part you need is 'high volume', the local Chrysler dealer doesn't stock it, but has to order it from Chrysler parts warehouse. Service is good, though, with next day delivery being the rule of thumb. This means the 'overhead' excuse for high prices isn't always valid. To be fair, _some_ items are competitive, and, if you complain, soemtimes they will make adjustments. I balked at wheel nuts @ $5 each, told them the competition charged $2, and got them for that. I thought the box looked a bit grungy, so, on the way to the cashier, I took the belt out, and examined it. It said "Made in Mexico" (_CANADIAN_ Tire - Hah!), and then noticed that it had a lot of marks on it, and some gobs of dirty black grease on the inner surface. Oviously _USED_, or at least, 'previously installed'! I handed it to the cashier, told her what I thought of their business ethics, and left without it. I have a question/dilemma: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I have a 1984 Cutlass Supreme Brougham (I believe a Limited Edition).. Body is mint, interior is minter, and engine is great. Unfortunately, it is and always has been a Northern car.. and with all the salt, the REAR of the frame (right below the truck, on either side of the gas tank) is rotted beyond BELIEF. Somehow, the body was completely spared from this salt attack. Now my dilemma/question: HOW can I go about repairing or at least REINFORCING the frame in this rotted section, as economically as possible?!? I'd really hate to part with the car, and I don't want it to fall apart one day, completely.. it really is a nice car, and I'd like to repair this somehow, but also as inexpensively as possible.. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!
