I'm just wondering if there is a price/quality -> relationship, or if they all come from the same Chinese -> prison labour factory. as with all things there is a Price/Quality relationship in Auto Parts. But yuo must rembember that Dealers have a FAR higher overhead and must charge accordingly. They typicaly carry slow moving parts that most Volume Autoparts stores with those Attractiave prices would never touch. And I woudl not hesitate to buy from any Major Autoparts store. Just stay away from "Back Alley" operations. For really critical parts I would use a NAPA dealer. In some cases theri quality is HIGHER than the Dealer --- GEcho 1.20/Pro * Origin: Jim's East County BBS! El Cajon, CA. RL> The Fordkiller |09=) Please tell me you don't drive a Silverado. I've always wondered about people who, for example, have a Chevy pickup, and put those stickers on the rear winshield of Calvin (Calvin & Hobbes) pissing on a Ford logo. Now.. I know this goes both ways, mind you. But what I'm getting at is: Why do you people feel your make is so much better than the other? Did you ever think that maybe both are good, since they've BOTH been around since before any of us were born? Give me any Silverado, and I'll beat it with my stock Ford anyday. Trucks are NOT fast. I think this is a complaint aimed more towards the people that live in my area, but I don't think any of you people do. The most common vehicle around here is a new body style Silverado, lowered, some cool wheel (most commonly Centerline), and a rumbly muffler, like a 3 stage Flowmaster. And these very people drive around revving their engine at anything that moves. I have a stock 351W in a '66 Fairlane 500 and I've recently come to the realization that I've got maybe the fastest car in my whole little town, except for the couple of newer Vettes and maybe a newer Z28, if there are any around. Now, granted... those are both Chevy. The whole Mustang/Camaro thing is a whole 'nother story. Put a Cobra up against a Z28, and it's fair, kinda. The Z has 348 cubic inches, while the Cobra has 280, or something, but they're very comparable, even in price. But I won't get into that.
