A friend has the Flow Control System on his JW>Holley carbed '73 Nova and noticed that it pulls a whole lot harder past JW>5,000 RPM than it used to, and swears by the air cleaners performance. Yes, I have what is called the K&N FIPK. I can't really say whether or not I felt a big difference as I didn't have the car very long when it was stock, the K&N was on about one week after I got the car :) Dyno tests I have seen show the FBodies to gain up to 14 horsepower from the K&N FIPK or some sort of cold air package. But, Fbodies gain more then other cars because out stock air intake systems are terrible. If you get a chance, look at an LT1 air intake, and you will agree with me. ON average I would say most cars pick up 8-12 horsepower. --- * OLX 2.1 TD * This is no family. JS>DOes the trailer have brakes???? No. A 5x8 utility trailer is not big enough to warrant on-board brakes. I'm not sure that the axles/hubs etc. are even constructed in a manner that is conducive to installing auxiliary brakes. The weight I haul is not enough to present a noticeable problem in braking. Occasionally, when I do a hard stop I can feel the "push" of the trailer, but stopping is no problem. My theory is the extra load of the trailer coupled with the extra weight of the conversion package generates a great deal of heat, even with normal braking. I think this "abnormal" heat applied on a regular basis is the root cause of the warping. >I know there are reguulations >that cover trailers and brakes, if not you might consider them.. Its an interesting thought. I'll check with the trailer distributor and see if aux brakes are available for a unit as small as mine. I really doubt that electric brakes are available, but surge brakes might be an option. Some extra braking power could relieve the van brakes of the overload. Thanks for the input...
