Until you do something with the piping JP>from the headers back you are still running 2 1/4 inch to the cats (let's JP>say four feet) which restrict the flow, then you are running 2 1/2 inch or JP>the last four feet... what is your advantage ?? This is especially true on JP>turbo cars. If you go gonzo on the exhaust side you really need to go onzo JP>on the intake side or you will not make optimum boost. I run 2.5 inch for JP>roughly two feet (out of the turbo) and break it into 2.25 inch duals to JP>carry to the end of the car. My system has six JP>soft bends. As I said, every car varies. I have seen dynoes showing the K&N FIPK, cat-back exhaust, and a SLP Y Pipe to combine for 19-20 horspower. Then the magazine installed headers, and the 4 mods combined to add 24 horsepower. That means the headers freed up about 5 horsepower. Headers for the LT1 FBodies run about $500, and installation will take a solid day. If you have a shop install them, expect to pay atlest $300 in labor. Yes, headers help a bit, but would you want to spend $800 to gain 5 horsepower? I'd rather not....Of course on a supercharged car, or a car with a nice cam ets, I would think headers would be more of a benefit. --- * OLX 2.1 TD * This is like a zoo...where they keep all the cool people. --- WILDMAIL!/WC v4.12 * Origin: Fresh Start BBS * Edison NJ * (732) 248-1678 * (1:107/310.0) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 246 AUTOMOTIVE Ref: F2Q00004 Date: 02/20/98 From: ROY WITT Time: 05:51pm \/To: MARC GERGES (Read 0 times) Subj: Active Handling On, 18 Feb 98 at 23:18, Marc Gerges was overheard shouting over the engine noise, saying something to Roy Witt about "Active Handling",: MG> Salut Roy!
