I know I do NOT. Yes, but the consequences between having one headlamp out on an automobile are usually less grave than that of having (let's say) low fuel on an aircraft. There are differences in dispatch criteria between commercial and military aircraft. There are some "failures" that would preclude the dispatch of a commercial aircraft but would permit dispatch of the military aircraft. Even in the more conservative case of commercial aircraft, there are different categories of "failures" for dispatch. For example: 1. Pilot is permitted to takeoff and fly for 'X' hours before getting service. 2. Pilot is not permitted to take off but if already in flight may fly 'Y' hours before getting service. 3. Pilot may not take off and if in flight must shut down the engine (if multi-engine aircraft). Obviously there is a difference between single-engine and multi-engine aircraft. There might be other categories and variations of the above. Nevertheless, I think it is silly to compare having some trivial failure (like a burnt headlamp) on an automobile to having a critical aircraft part failure. --- QScan/PCB v1.19b / 01-0232 * Origin: IBMNet Connection - Indpls, IN - 317-882-5575 28.8 USR (1:231/1) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 246 AUTOMOTIVE Ref: F2B00015 Date: 02/07/98 From: MARK LOGSDON Time: 12:16pm \/To: JAY EMRIE (Read 0 times) Subj: Vehicle Confiscationi JE> Well, like I said, it gives him a chance to write you up on more seriou JE> violations. :-( Can you say fascist police state?
