Much higher volumes of fuel in relation to air, and a higher compression ratio to take advantage of its naturally high octane. Only thing wrong with Methanol is it is quite corrosive on metals and hard on rubber, plastics, etc. Given the choice I would prefer Ethanol, if the Gub'ment didn't have strict controls.
