CZ> RJ> -Robert- CZ> CZ> HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH... CZ> You're joking, right? If everyone is required to purchase a product, then there is less incentive to reduce the price of that product. In this case, demand is artificially increased by the government, and there is less incentive for the seller to make its product more attractive by lowering the price. You can only hope that more competitors will enter the market and offer a similar product, but that largely depends on what types of barriers to market entry the existing sellers have erected. For example, a new competitor will be required to purchase and maintain a computer system that links with the government. That's a barrier and it's an expense that the existing seller has already encountered and an expense probably already recovered. --- QScan/PCB v1.19b / 01-0232 * Origin: IBMNet Connection - Indpls, IN - 317-882-5575 28.8 USR (1:231/1) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 246 AUTOMOTIVE Ref: F1L00011 Date: 01/16/98 From: MARK LOGSDON Time: 11:34am \/To: VERN FAULKNER (Read 0 times) Subj: Vehicle Confiscation VF> TW> What is Wrong with that? There is a way but the ease of accomplishment depends on how hard it is to get to the wiring at the back of the Radio. Some have to be removed. But anyhow one of those wires is the Control line to the Power Antenna. Just disconnect it and wire it to a switch. The antenna goes up when the control line is powered and down when it is in a No Power condition. And with the price of a Cadillac Power antenna I can see why you are concerned. And for those that are going to pipe in and remind me of the After Market power antennas I will say they Most don't either Fit or Look right. --- GEcho 1.20/Pro * Origin: Jim's East County BBS! Actually, it was my dad's, he killed that motor. Oil would leak into the airfilter, it would smoke all the time and the carb was messed up. It turned out that the rings were messed up and we didn't find it worth fixing so we bought the new truck. Well, anyway, someone told me that putting Diesel oil would help. Go figure.
