A real world example that comes to mind is the current NHRA L/Stock record holder. 3300 pounds and 11.7-8's out of a 5.0 in a SN95. I have the issue of MM&FF that it is featured in at work, so I can't quote you anything more detailed without having it in front of me. I agree that 445 on the motor would be my preference over 445 with a supercharger or using the bottle. My question is what is it going to cost to get 445 out of a 4.6 DOHC on the motor? As I recall, the bumper has two rails that slide into a track on that escort. Removing 2-4 bolts on each side should do the trick. The junkyards are loaded with escorts and you can probably find what you need at very reasonable prices......you might even get a color match if that's an issue. I would recommend trying a Wrecking Yard first as those energy absorbing bumpers are very expensive if purchased from your Friendly FORD dealer. That is because they are a by design one use device.
