That's true. It means wealthier lawyers too. Would a lawyer rather sue someone who had lots of insurance to pay for "damages" or someone who had few assets? I know. I know. If someone injures someone in my family, I would prefer that culprit would have liability insurance (or at least be able to pay damages). However, these mandatory insurance laws are not introduced for the good of the "common folk" even though I'm sure the politicians will claim otherwise. The laws are demanded by insurance lobbyists and passed into law by lawyers in the legislatures. We know who really benefits in this deal. --- QScan/PCB v1.19b / 01-0232 * Origin: IBMNet Connection - Indpls, IN - 317-882-5575 28.8 USR (1:231/1) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 246 AUTOMOTIVE Ref: F1I00005 Date: 01/13/98 From: SEAN DUNBAR Time: 06:54pm \/To: CHRIS ZYCHSKI (Read 0 times) Subj: Re: Transmission Repair CZ> Also, would a 2.5L with transaxel from a 1988 S-10 fit in CZ> this Cavalier without too much problem? GH> GH> Ok for your lesson on automotive computers, I've saw these simptoms GH> many times. GH> Your first step is to check the ACT air charge temp. and ECT engine GH> coolant temp. sensors before the car is started. the voltage at each GH> sensor should be the same on cold start up. The one with the highest GH> voltage if different is defective. GH> Another culprit I've saw is the TPS Throtle Position Sensor it is GH> hard to check without a lab scope, but try using a DVOM on the GH> center wire from closed throttle slowly open the throttle with GH> the key on engine off should increase smoothly don't rely on the GH> self diagnostics the 1200 baud they run at is way too slow. GH> One more thing clean the throttle body real good. cold dry carbon GH> deposits will act like a sponge and suck up fuel which makes for GH> a hard start or roughness on cold start. GH> Last but most important make sure the Ignition Timeing is correct, GH> most of the drivablity problems I get in the shop are simply caused GH> by slow ignitoin timeing.
